Drink/Drug Drive Warning – Rolvenden Road RTC On 13 July 2026, officers attended a single-vehicle road traffic collision on Rolvenden Road after a driver lost control of his vehicle on a bend. The driver was found at the scene showing clear signs of being under the influence of alcohol. Significant damage had been caused to both the vehicle and a roadside fence. A roadside breath test was conducted, returning a reading of 92 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, more than two and a half times the legal limit of 35. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit and driving without third-party insurance. He was subsequently released on bail pending the results of a urine sample. This collision highlights the very real consequences of drink and drug driving. Fortunately, on this occasion, nobody was seriously injured or killed. However, the outcome could easily have been far more tragic. Please do not drink or take drugs and then drive. | ||
